The Consortium: Winner of the ERA Award 2005

Here at The Consortium, we were thrilled to announce our title as Winner of the Educational Resources Supplier of the Year 2005 Award, organised by Nexus Media Limited and British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA). Having been short-listed for the second year in succession for this impressive award, our directors and staff were overjoyed when it was announced that we were the winner for 2005. The award was given to the supplier that could demonstrate excellent customer service.

Environmental Business Award Winner 2003

Thursday the 3rd of July saw The Consortium become the proud recipient of the Bath Chronicle Environmental Business Award 2003. Fighting off strong opposition, our entry centred around the implementation of the shared user distribution solution provided by Fiege. Some of the facts that helped us to win the award included.

  • Reduction of the annual delivery mileage by over 200,000 miles
  • Reduction of fuel usage by 20,000 gallons each year
  • Lower CO2 Emissions
  • Less impact on rural and community roads with smaller lighter vehicles

The awards event was organised by the prestigious National Business Awards Association and attended by over 250 people. Speaker for the evening was David Hempleman-Adams and the awards were presented by Chris Vacher of BBC Points West.

The Business Excellence Model

The Business Excellence Model was developed by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) and adopted by the British Quality Foundation (BQF). The Consortium is a member of the BQF. The Business Excellence Model is built on nine principles, the main ones being Customer Satisfaction, Business Results and Processes (often based on ISO9000).
