4 new directors to aim for £100 million!

19th January 2005

The Consortium, the award-winning, national procurement and fulfilment company has embarked on an ambitious 5 year growth plan which aims to take the company from an annual turnover of around £40m in 2004 to £100m by the end of 2009.

A new Operations Directorate has been established, recruiting 4 highly experienced operations managers with a joint responsibility for delivering the plan. This will allow the existing directors of the company to further develop the longer term strategy for the company.

The team started on Monday 17th January and are currently spending a week with the existing directors in a comprehensive "inclusion" process which will ensure they can hit the ground running.

The Bath-based recruitment agency SJC supported The Consortium throughout the recruitment and selection process. The bold move to recruit such a high-level team was met with an overwhelming response through the advertisements placed in the Bristol, Bath and Swindon press and national newspapers, the Times and the Times on Sunday.

From a massive 700 applicants, 42 were short listed to meet the board. 12 candidates took part in a day-long series of workshops to test their problem solving and interaction with one another before the final 4 were appointed at the end of the day.

Brian Potter joins The Consortium to head the Marketing & Sales division from UK based Direct Marketing organisation, Broadsystem and will be invaluable in developing the campaigns required to deliver the growth plan.

David Santhouse has been appointed to drive the Supply Chain. David leaves B&Q and will bring experience of a much larger enterprise to The Consortium's supply chain to ensure it can deal with significantly increased volumes.

Joe Caddell is switching from the Insurance sector to fill the Business systems role. Joe's extensive systems integration experience will prove invaluable in developing the service offered to customers and the efficiency of The Consortium's processes.

Garry Wilson has a manufacturing and engineering background and will ensure we have the people and the infrastructure to support a much larger enterprise as Resources manager.

Sara Child from SJC comments: "The Consortium obviously took time to articulate their exact requirements to SJC and as a result the short listed candidates were of the highest calibre. I am confident that the team will deliver the results that The Consortium deserve and desire."

Jeff Gould, CEO, comments: "We are confident that we now have all the resources with which to take advantage of the growth opportunities in the marketplace and we have been delighted with the recruitment process. The new team have a strong existing management team to work with and I look forward to seeing rapid progress over the coming months."
