Sensory Therapy
At The Consortium Care one of our specialist product areas is sensory therapy. Our aim is to provide products that help your residents move around as freely and effortlessly as possible, in and out of the care home. We have selected our sensory therapy equipment range specifically for the needs of the elderly and for people with physical and learning disabilities.
Sensory Therapy for the elderly
For many residents, verbal communication can be difficult and can lead to people becoming withdrawn. Sensory therapy activities are one way of trying to engage people who have withdrawn and can open up communication routes. In addition, they may also be useful for those who are in later stages of life; who are being nursed in bed and show little response to everyday stimulus.
Sensory therapy has also been shown to decrease agitation and restlessness in residents with alzheimers and other forms of dementia.
Our range of sensory products can help aid mental stimulation, object recognition, communication and fun.
