Food Service

The Food Safety Act 1990 places important legal obligations on caterers. The service provided includes expert Quality Assurance Inspectors dedicated to monitoring all food contracts. The Quality Assurance function is ISO 9001-2000 accredited. The inspectors play an important role in supporting the necessary 'due diligence' along the supply chain. The Quality Assurance Service will help to get the best out of your suppliers.

Quality Assured

Food Service
This is carried out to demonstrate compliance with our Standard of Competency for Suppliers. All suppliers and distributors are audited prior to contract award, they are then subjected to ongoing audits based on risk analysis. All audits involve a detailed written report and also the provision of a precise report summarising the key findings.

Complaint Monitoring

End users will tend to deal with minor complaints directly with the distributor but more serious distributor and supplier problems are reported back to The Consortium for investigation and action on your behalf. These are logged on a dedicated computer system and appropriate corrective action is taken. Complaint levels also affect the risk analysis of suppliers, so that if a large number of complaints are received the distributor or supplier would be visited more often for remedial work. The records of this work are maintained to support a due diligence defence.

Rest Assured

Our Quality Assurance Team have an excellent reputation and occasionally undertake audits for Regional Trading Standards Officers. (These audits may also involve providing an expert witness if the results lead to formal prosecutions). Reassuringly, our inspectors have full authority to suspend suppliers or impose Corrective Action Notices for non-conformance.
